The purpose of this page is to acquaint newer members, and to review some of the club’s history.  Also and mainly to ask for your input and comments on what could be done to improve things.

The computer club was started in January 2000. The club’s purpose was for the mutual benefit of all members through an orderly exchange of information, ideas, problems and solutions about general-purpose computer operations and use.

The club didn’t have any equipment it was a chat session.  The members asked questions and discussed various computer related topics.  The club was fortunate at that time to have Joe Krall and John Rossi as members;  they did a good job supplying many of the answers.  Later the club used a clumsy set up that used a TV as the screen; text etc. was too small to see.

After the senior center got the LCD projector, we used different laptops that the senior center used.  Frequently there were problems in using them such as passwords etc. and even the staff had problems getting them to work.

John Rossi, then loaned the club one of his lap-top computers, which we were fortunate to use for quite awhile.

The club has progressed and today we are fortunate to have additional members who are quite knowledgeable and willing to share there knowledge and know how. The club has a web-site and an off-shoot of the club the photo club, which meets separately.

Several years ago, we had a couple who had moved here from Arizona, they attended meetings for awhile then dropped out.  The club they belonged to in Arizona had an exceptional large membership.  They showed us the club’s newsletter, told us that the club had several separate groups that met with a group leader for different programs, ex. Internet, e-mail, word etc.

They also had a web-site that was used as a chat site for the club, where members could ask questions, get answers from other members.

Currently and we are fortunate to have someone willing and able to operate our present web-page.

I believe that the web-site has the potential to be more useful to the membership if it included having a chat link where members could pose questions, reply to them, make comments, and list any items they may have for sale or want to donate.

    What do you think?

Is there anything else that the club could consider to improve and be more beneficial to the membership?

Please bring your thoughts, ideas, to our next meeting.  If you cannot attend the next meeting, e-mail them to President Joe Krall before your next meeting.
